Chippewa Valley Anesthesia Associates, S.C. was developed to maintain the private practice model of anesthesia service delivery in our community. It is focused on providing the highest quality anesthesia services at Oakleaf Surgical Hospital in support of the hospital and our private practice colleagues of the Oakleaf Medical Network in delivering outstanding care to the patients of the Chippewa Valley.
We consist of a close team of 5 Physician Anesthesiologists and 12 Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists that work in a two-provider anesthesia care team which offers definitive safety advantages over one provider models, as well as maintaining cost control.
Eric D. Etzel, D.O., received his degree from Des Moines University of Osteopathic Medicine in 1997. Dr. Etzel completed his internship at Loyola University Medical Center in 1998 and his residency at Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in 2001. Dr. Etzel is Board Certified in Anesthesiology.
Matthew J. Irwin, MD received his degree from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine in 2006. Dr. Irwin completed his internship at University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics in 2007 and his residency in 2010.
Dr. Irwin is Board Certified in Anesthesiology.
Steven M. Kapla, MD, received his medical degree from the University of Minnesota in 1989. He completed his residency at the University of Michigan in 1993. Dr. Kapla is Board Certified in Anesthesiology.
James L. Lodahl, MD received his degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003. Dr. Lodahl completed his internship and residency at University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics in 2007.
Dr. Lodahl is Board Certified in Anesthesiology.
W. Jon Wood, MD received his degree from the Jefferson Medical College in 2003. Dr. Wood completed his internship at Marshfield Clinic in 2004 and his residency at Medical College of Wisconsin Affiliated Hospitals in 2007.
Dr. Wood is Board Certified in Anesthesiology.
